About the event
April Readings:
Caroline Criado Perez's book, Invisible Women is about the erasure or of women's perspectives and contributions through history and particularly the gap in the collection of gender specific data that informs policy in all walks of life in a way that adversely impacts women. Pip William's novel The Dictionary of Lost Words is a fictional representation (based on historical evidence) of another type of gender data gap, the lack of representation of women's perspectives in the evolution of language. Incidentally, Perez too discusses language, among the many other instances of gender data gaps.
